Embroidered chasuble of St. Luke is an exceptional liturgical garment that combines classical aesthetics with a profound spiritual message. The central embroidery depicts St. Luke – the evangelist, patron of physicians, caregivers, and all who assist those in need. The image is crafted with extraordinary attention to detail, and the characteristic symbol of the ox completes the iconographic accuracy of the representation. Thus, the garment becomes striking both theologically and liturgically.
Along the waist runs an ornament made of golden thread. The decorative floral line emphasizes the harmony of the design and adds a sacred dimension. The entire piece is maintained in an ecru shade, which lends elegance to the garment and ensures that the embroidered chasuble of St. Luke presents itself majestically against the backdrop of the presbytery. The light color symbolizes light, hope, and spiritual purity — values particularly dear to the patron of physicians.
The fabric from which the garment is made is soft and lightweight, allowing the chasuble to drape beautifully in motion. This is important during processions, blessings, or solemn celebrations. The delicate structure ensures comfort of use and a high standard of liturgical appearance. On the back, there is a symmetrical embroidered cross, stylistically matched to the front composition.
The set includes an inner stole made from the same fabric and featuring identical ornamentation, making the embroidered chasuble of St. Luke a cohesive liturgical ensemble. The garment is ideal for celebrations dedicated to the evangelists, events related to caring for the sick, and liturgies that emphasize the mission of providing assistance and healing.
The design was created in the Urbanowicz Haft Polska workshop – a place where sacred tradition meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.
